Sant La Urges the community to take advantage of the last remaining days of its 2004 free E.I.T.C. Tax preparation services.
Miami, FL, March 30, 2004—Haitian Neighborhood Center, Sant La, in partnership with the 2004 Greater Miami Prosperity Campaign, is nearing the last fifteen days of its 2004 EITC campaign targeting Miami-Dade County’s Haitian community. For the past three months, Sant La has operated as a VITA Tax Site providing free tax preparation to low-income residents who are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC).

We urge qualified low-income working families and individuals to take advantage of the free tax preparation services we provide. These programs involve the largest transfer of cash to low-income individuals and offer unique opportunities for economic prosperity for hard working communities.” said Gepsie M. Since the beginning of our Tax preparation campaign on January 29th of this year, we have seen over 208 clients who filed electronic and paper returns totaling over 265 Thousand Dollars in refunds. We have provided this free service to the entire Miami community in English, Creole, French and Spanish. Our concern is that clients obtain and receive all the tax benefits for which they may qualify, in order to increase prosperity within the Miami-Dade community.
The Haitian Neighborhood Center, Sant La is a not-for-profit One Stop Neighborhood Center whose purpose is to empower, strengthen and stabilize the Haitian-American community of South Florida through the coordination of service delivery in the areas of social services, education, economic self-sufficiency and access to health care.
