HAITIAN PHYSICIANS MEDICAL MISSION

The Association of Haitian Physicians South Florida Chapter (AMHE-SFC) sends its greetings for Haiti's Bicentennial Year 2004 and invites the public to share its joy as Haiti continues its celebration of its two hundred Anniversary of Independence. We are proud to say that our ancestors and heroes of our independence left a leadership footprint and self- determination in the life of every Haitian.

Unfortunately, hurricane Jeanne left an unforgettable mark in Haiti in September 2004. On October 8th, 2004 the Haitian physicians of South Florida went to Gonaives to bring medical support to the affected population, and we provided healthcare to 915 sick people. Most of the patients we treated suffered from diarrhea, respiratory infections, gastro-enteritis, vaginal infections, wounds shots, wounds produced by machetes and knives, falling from trees and other involuntary and voluntary injuries. While we were in Gonaives, we witness the burning down of 27 houses in DeKaro, and have provided medical treatment to those victims as well.

AMHE is not only proactive in providing medical relief to Haiti, but also in South Florida. We conduct medical lectures on radio, television and at hospitals. We also conduct health fair for the general public at different sites. With your participation we would like to initiate more free medical programs in for people living in South Florida.

To commemorate this year, the Association of Haitian Physicians in South Florida would like to invite the general public to participate at our Annual Gala on Saturday the eighteen of December Two Thousand and Four at seven thirty p.m. at the HYATT REGENCY MIAMI where “Sweet Micky” will entertain us.

We will unite once again and prove that in spite of all the difficulties and odds that our people presently confront, Haitians are still together and ready to support us in continuing our Medical Relief Mission. Our special THANKS go to all people who have supported the association of Haitian Physicians throughout this year.
